Simulation now defaults with insect screens. What if client does not want insect screens?

NatHERS has specified that draught seals and insect screens be included for regulatory ratings.  These decisions are made based on the NCC/BCA requirements and to create a level of consistency between assessments.

You can change to BERS mode (free running mode) and turn them off to give your client an idea of what the difference is, but it cannot be certified in this mode.

I have a project in which the client does not want insect screen to the sliding door open to their Unit's balcony. From reading between the lines, my interpretation of this is that it is required to include insect screens for consistency between assessments, however actual installation of screen is not a requirement under NCC/BCA? Is this correct?
